    Twocan Blue is the musical duo of Tess & Richie Schmidt.  In the fall of 1983, after playing a number of years with various bands in the NYC area, guitarist Richie left the Big Apple to travel to mid-west as part of a popular dance band.  At the same time, keyboardist Tess Smith of Fargo ND had just finished a string of gigs on the west coast, and received a call from a regional agent, saying there was a band out of New York, in need of a keyboardist.  Tess decided to join the band, and this circumstance brought the two together.

    The dance band began booking gigs further south, eventually bringing them to Florida.  Richie & Tess' time with that band came to an end in the early 90s, and since then they've performed together with many fine bands and musicians as well as playing as the duo, "Twocan Blue".  With an eclectic mix of styles, including original songs and crowd favorites, they developed a friendly following in South Florida.

  Continuing to perform as a duo, as well as with other acts, plans include recording and releasing more original music.
